Notes:
Middle School did no fundraising this year due to COVID-19 so middle school income is down. Fundraising will need to occur in the future.
Middle School: two goalie chest plates were purchased because US Lacrosse rules change requiring upgrading.
High School had only four away games far enough away for away game food to be needed so less was needed this year.
High school had a closer away games so the cost of a bus upgrade was not needed.
High school had 12 seniors which was unusual so the cost of the banner and senior gifts were higher this year.
High School did no fundraising either but the $100 booster club fee per player cover expenses.
The Beaver Island Fundraiser was used for both teams but since the middle school team had more expenditures than income the money raised helped offset the loss for the middle school team.

Announcement from Coach Greg & Coach Morgan about lacrosse opportunities!
Hi Everyone!
I hope this message finds you all doing well and staying healthy!! Unfortunately, with our Spring Season getting obliterated, all amidst a general pall of uncertainty, finally a ray of positivity emerged yesterday.
Nothing, has led to practices-only in pods of 10, then up to pods of 25 and now, intra-team scrimmages and eventually game competition, which provides clarity on what can be done, to advance your daughter's lacrosse ability and skills.
There are plenty of roadblocks to overcome, but I wanted to communicate with you today about a shortened 5-week practice/training window that may lead to the formation of a club team in Central Minnesota, beginning in the Fall of 2020 and going through the Club Lacrosse season of July 31, 2021.
At the very least, I am inquiring about your appetite for any Summer Lacrosse activity, my thoughts being 2x weekly practices, starting July 7th (Tuesdays & Thursdays) ending August 6th, since the Summer coaching period has been extended one week this year. This allows your daughter to train at an accelerated level, enjoy the rest of the Summer, then pick up again in mid-September, if desired.
The Fall training season and/or Fall Development Program would tentatively start Sunday, September 13th and go for 6 weeks, ending October 18th, if there is no Club Team. However, if there is, the MLA will find additional practice facilities for after that, leading up to a tournament @ Loyola Academy in Glenview, IL, the weekend of November 7/8. Take a break for Thanksgiving & Christmas, then for those that are interested, gear up for a 5v5 indoor tournament @ Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, normally the 2nd or 3rd Sunday in January. Insert the Winter Warm Up from mid-February to late-March, break for your Spring HS season, then pick back up for the Summer of 2021.
Whew!!!
Now, all I am asking is for today, is a Yes or No to the following questions:
1) Summer-Only Training (T & Th, 5 weeks, probably 1.5-2.0 hours in the late afternoon/early evening; Cost & Site TBD).
2) Summer Training & Club Team Participation (See above, then potential scrimmages/games in July/August; Cost & Site: TBD).
3) Club Team Consideration for the Fall, 2020 (No Summer activity, but very interested in advanced training & playing opportunities, starting in September; Cost & Site: TBD).
Having formed multiple Club Teams in the prior decade, the MLA has the experience and relationships to pull things together quickly, but only if there is enough interest. Speaking with some of your daughters, especially during the Winter Warm Up, the idea was to play on a team that can rapidly develop their lacrosse skill and turn it into a positive for their HS team and/or perhaps look to playing collegiately.
I will stop here, but there is a growing feeling more players (and hopefully their parents :) desire advanced lacrosse opportunities. Well, the MLA is willing and able. The only questions is 'Are You'..?
Best Regards,
Coach Greg & Coach Morgan

To the athletes & families of the St. Cloud Area Girls Lacrosse Team,
Looking beyond this spring, Greg has been taking active interest in forming a Summer
Club Team for Central Minnesota and has a spot reserved in the MSLax Summer
League, which means games and high level practices. This includes 2020 grads,
because of no Spring activity. Based on projected costs of practice venue(s), league
play, coaching stipends, insurance and miscellaneous (balls, hydration, snacks, etc),
the MLA will offer this high level experience for $ 350.00 (24 girl maximum).
This offers a great way to stay active this summer and an opportunity to continue to
grow on your skills. Please let Greg or Morgan know if you are interested in playing this
summer!
Please also let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. Feel free to
reach out to us regarding any topic not just lacrosse. Remember to keep celebrating the
little victories and keep your chins up :)
Best Regards,
Coach Z & Coach Morgan
04/05/ 2020:
Message from High School Coach Greg Zandlo,
As optimistic as I usually am, I am also a realist and inferring from the tone of the latest Governor's briefing on Wednesday, he laid the groundwork for extending distance-based learning, which if did occur, kills any attempt at a season.
In preparing for a possible season, returning players should access their ORANGE folders from last year, begin reading, if not already, and get/keep a lacrosse stick in one's hands, working on fundamentals either solo or together, without compromising anyone.
Should the High School season NOT occur, there is at least one Summer option, which is a Central Minnesota-based Summer Club Team run by the Minnesota Lacrosse Academy. These have been plans in the works since January for just such a team with interest from 8-9 girls (Becker, Monticello, Rocori, Sartell/Sauk Rapids and St. Cloud) so another 10-11 girls would be needed to reach critical mass for practices and game play.
For anyone interested in playing Summer Lacrosse (June & July, only), please contact Coach Z for more information."
Keeping fingers crossed for May 5th...Stay Safe!

3/15/2020:
With the recent developments with COVID-19 and schools closing, we want to give you an update about girls lacrosse at the high school and middle school club level.
High School Update 3/15/2020:
Parent/Player/Coach (PAC) Meeting: The high school PAC meeting will be rescheduled for a future time TBD. Please keep checking the website for details.
Booster Club Form and Fee: Please mail your booster club form and fee to the address on the form. Please go to the high school tab to download the form. The cost has increase as there was overwhelming parent feedback in favor of an increased fee and not having a pancake breakfast fundraiser.
School Sport Registration: It is important that high school players register with their school (Apollo, Tech or Cathedral) as a spring sport. Please check your school activities web page for forms and payment information, fill them out and mail them to the school’s activities director or you can mail them with your Booster Club form to Greg Knoll 828 11th Ave S, Saint Cloud, MN 56301 and he will get them to your school’s athletic director.
Captains Practices’: Official captains’ practices are unable to happen when school is not in session. However, players are encouraged to practice stick skills and keep physically in shape.
Middle School Update 3/15/2020:
COVID-19: The 14U girls lacrosse league will continue as scheduled and will defer to the Minnesota State High School League guidelines. The first game is not until April 26th and practices will not start until after April 6th. Your registration fee/check will be held and not cashed, and if the season is cancelled you will be refunded. We will not be able to refund the cost of the US Lacrosse membership, but that does not need to be in effect until the first practice so if you have not renewed the membership please wait.
Parent/Player/Coach (PAC) Meeting: The middle school PAC meeting will be rescheduled for future time TBD. Please keep checking the website for details.
Registration: Please go to the middle school tab for registration information and downloadable forms. Please fill them out and send the forms and check to the address listed on the form. We want players to register ahead of time so the coach can plan.
Game Schedule: The game schedule has been released and there is a lot less travel this year. Please go to the middle school page to review the schedule.
Field: We will be practicing and playing all home games at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School, 1615 11th Ave S, St Cloud, MN 56301. It is a few blocks south of South Junior High and will allow for practices to have a fully lined field!
Age: The team is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. There is no limit on the number of 6th graders that can play. If you are in 8th grade and are or will be 15 during the season, you can still play but we need to know it so we can notify the league.
